Around three hundred Somerset Members braved the weather for the annual Somerset CCC Members’ Open Day at the Cooper Associates County Ground recently.
The annual free event gives Members the opportunity to see everything that the Club has to offer and gives those who attend exclusive behind the scenes access.
The event began in the County Room of the Colin Atkinson Pavilion.
Vice Chair, Richard Brice officially opened the event before those present enjoyed presentations from SCCC Commercial Director, Caroline Herbert, SCCC Director of Venue Operations, Sarah Trunks and SCCC Head of Business Operations, Jon Bendle.

Geoff Vian reminded supporters of the importance of the Club’s Member Directors before Somerset Cricket Foundation Managing Director, Maralyn Smith discussed the growth of the Charity.
Catering Operations Manager, Jason Winter outlined what Members can expect in 2026 before Boys Academy Lead Coach, Alex Barrow discussed the continued success of the Somerset Player Pathway.
Members then got the chance to see the Somerset men training in the Indoor Centre of Excellence where Paul Tweddle and Steve Kirby talked the spectators through the net session.

Members also received a guided tour of the Somerset Cricket Museum and were taken to see behind the scenes in the Andrew Caddick Pavilion.

This was followed by informative question and answer sessions with Somerset Director of Cricket Andy Hurry, Somerset Men Head Coach Jason Kerr and Somerset Women Head Coach Erin Osborne.
There was then a guided tour of the Marcus Trescothick Pavilion and a special talk from Head Grounds Person, Nick Pepper in Stragglers.
The event finished back in the Indoor Centre of Excellence where Somerset Women Batting Coach Kieran Peters, Somerset batter Emma Corney plus Somerset bowlers Mollie Robbins and Erin Vukusic talked those in attendance through their training sessions.
