This weekend’s pre-season match between Gloucestershire and Somerset at the Seat Unique Stadium, Bristol has been cancelled.

Originally scheduled to be a three-day fixture, it was announced earlier this week that it would be reduced to a two-day game due to the bad weather. Unfortunately, further rain has resulted in the cancellation of the fixture.

Regarding the abandonment, Somerset Head Coach, Jason Kerr said: “We will get the guys indoors this weekend and maximise the time that we have ahead of next week. The weather has been awful across the country, so I imagine that most teams will be undercooked going into the first games.

“What’s really important now is that our mindset is right, and we’ll have a lot of conversations around the mentality of what we are trying to achieve next week and how we are going to approach that match. We spend a lot of time training indoors in the UK. It’s part of what we do and the guys have been brilliant at practice this morning and that’s all we can ask for.”
